Tour Itinerary
Day 1 - Moshi - Marangu gate – Mandara Hut
Your trek begins at the Marangu Gate, the starting point of the Marangu Route. Traverse through vibrant rainforests filled with diverse flora and fauna. Experience a gradual ascent to the Mandara Hut, nestled around 2,700 meters above sea level. Witness the transition from lush forests to moorlands. Geographical Description: The Marangu Route's initial leg involves traversing dense rainforests characterized by a rich variety of vegetation and wildlife. Temperatures here range from 15°C to 25°C. The Mandara Hut sits at an altitude of about 2,700 meters, providing stunning views and a taste of the changing landscape.

Day 2 - Mandara hut – Horombo Hut
Continue the climb through the unique landscape, passing by Maundi Crater, and enter the moorland. Arrive at the Horombo Hut, situated around 3,700 meters above sea level. Geographical Description: As you ascend, the vegetation changes to heath and moorland. The Horombo Hut, positioned at 3,700 meters, offers panoramic views of the surrounding terrain, characterized by vast grasslands and unique plant life.

Day 3 - Horombo Hut – Kibo Hut
The journey ascends further towards the alpine desert zone. Reach the Kibo Hut, situated at about 4,700 meters, where you will prepare for the final push to the summit. Geographical Description: The trek leads through the alpine desert, a stark and barren landscape. The Kibo Hut, positioned at 4,700 meters, is the last stop before the summit and offers breathtaking views of the mountain's upper slopes.

Day 4 - Kibo Hut – Uhuru Peak (summit point) - Back to Horombo Hut
Embark on the exhilarating summit attempt to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5,895 meters. Descend back to Kibo Hut and further down to Horombo Hut. Geographical Description: Uhuru Peak stands as the culmination of the journey, rewarding climbers with awe-inspiring views. The descent to Horombo Hut, situated at around 3,700 meters, marks a return to the moorland and heath.

Day 5 - Horombo Hut – Mandara Hut - Marangu gate - Back to Moshi/Arusha
Descend through the lower heath and lush rainforest zones, reaching the Marangu Gate. Celebrate the successful climb and head back to Moshi or Arusha. Geographical Description: The descent takes you through the varied landscapes encountered earlier, providing a chance to appreciate the diverse ecosystems once again.
