Day 1 - Moshi to Rongai Gate to Simba Camp
Distance: Approximately 8km Altitude: Moshi (800m) to Rongai Gate (1,950m) to Simba Camp (2,650m) Terrain: The journey begins with a scenic drive to the Rongai Gate, the starting point of the trek. The trail winds through dense rainforests filled with unique flora and fauna, offering glimpses of wildlife. Simba Camp, set amidst the moorland zone, provides breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.

Day 2 - Simba Camp to Second Cave
Distance: Approximately 5km Altitude: Simba Camp (2,650m) to Second Cave (3,450m) Terrain: The trail ascends through heath and moorland, showcasing an array of vegetation. Marvel at the changing landscapes as you reach Second Cave, nestled against the rugged slopes of Kilimanjaro.

Day 3 - Second Cave to Third Cave
Distance: Approximately 4km Altitude: Second Cave (3,450m) to Third Cave (3,870m) Terrain: The trek continues through the alpine desert, characterized by sparse vegetation and stunning rock formations. The route offers striking views of Mawenzi Peak and the expansive plains below.
Accommodation: Third Cave Campsite
Day 4 - Third Cave to Kibo Hut
Approximately 5km Altitude: Third Cave (3,870m) to Kibo Hut (4,700m) Terrain: As you ascend towards Kibo Hut, the landscape transforms into a barren lunar-like terrain. The air gets thinner, and the challenge intensifies, preparing you for the final ascent.

Day 5 - Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak (summit point) Back to Horombo Hut
Distance: Approximately 21km Altitude: Kibo Hut (4,700m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) to Horombo Hut (3,720m) Terrain: The summit push begins in the early hours, navigating steep slopes and icy paths under the starlit sky. Reach the breathtaking Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, and savor the triumphant moment. Descend to Horombo Hut through various ecological zones, including the moorland and heath.

Day 6 - Horombo Hut to Mandara Hut to Marangu Gate Back to Moshi/Arusha
Distance: Approximately 20km Altitude: Horombo Hut (3,720m) to Mandara Hut (2,700m) to Marangu Gate (1,860m) Terrain: The final stretch descends through the rainforest, offering a stark contrast to the summit experience. Celebrate your accomplishment at Marangu Gate before returning to Moshi or Arusha.
