Tour Itinerary
Day 1 - Moshi/Arusha to Machame Gate to Machame Camp
The adventure begins! From the Machame Gate, the trail winds through lush rainforests filled with ancient trees and vibrant flora. As you ascend, the temperature gradually decreases, offering a pleasant escape from the lowland heat. Geographical Description: The Machame Gate, situated at approximately 1,800 meters above sea level, marks the entry to the Machame Route. As you hike, the vegetation changes dramatically from the rainforest, characterized by dense canopies and diverse plant life.

Day 2 - Machame Camp to Shira 2 Camp
The trail continues through the forest and opens up to moorlands, revealing stunning vistas of the surrounding valleys and volcanic formations. The Shira Plateau unfolds before you, showcasing a surreal landscape as you reach Shira 2 Camp. Geographical Description: Shira 2 Camp sits at around 3,850 meters, providing panoramic views of the Shira Plateau. The landscape transitions to moorlands with scattered heather and unique flora adapted to higher altitudes.

Day 3 - Shira 2 Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp
Today, you will ascend to Lava Tower, a striking volcanic formation standing at 4,600 meters. This acclimatization hike prepares you for the altitude. Descending to Barranco Camp, you will encounter the iconic Barranco Wall, a thrilling yet manageable challenge. Geographical Description: The Lava Tower offers a unique perspective, showcasing Kilimanjaro's volcanic history. The Barranco Camp, positioned at around 3,960 meters, presents stunning views of the surrounding valleys and the imposing Barranco Wall.

Day 4 - : Barranco Camp to Karanga camp
Your journey continues with a climb up the Barranco Wall, an exhilarating experience offering panoramic views. Trekking through Karanga Valley, you will notice the landscape transforming into semi-desert terrain, a stark yet captivating contrast. Geographical Description: Karanga Camp, situated at approximately 4,040 meters, is nestled in a valley surrounded by rocky outcrops. The semi-desert environment boasts sparse vegetation adapted to the harsh conditions, providing glimpses of Kilimanjaro's diverse ecosystems.

Day 5 - Karanga camp to Barafu Camp
