Tour Itinerary
Day 1 - Moshi to Rongai Gate to Simba Camp
Distance: Approximately 8km Altitude: 1,950m to 2,650m Vegetation: Lush rainforest gradually giving way to moorland Temperature: Around 25°C at the base, gradually cooler as altitude increases Begin the journey to Kilimanjaro's summit from the Rongai Gate, trekking through dense rainforests teeming with unique flora and fauna. As you ascend, the landscape transitions to moorland, and Simba Camp becomes your first overnight stop.

Day 2 - Simba Camp to Second Cave
Distance: Approximately 5km Altitude: 2,650m to 3,450m Vegetation: Moorland, scattered shrubs, and unique alpine plants Temperature: Averaging around 15°C, cooler in the evenings Today's trek leads through moorland dotted with fascinating alpine vegetation. Second Cave offers a stunning view of the surrounding landscape and serves as the campsite for the night.

Day 3 - Second Cave to Kikelewa Cave
Distance: Approximately 9km Altitude: 3,450m to 3,600m Vegetation: Alpine desert, sparse vegetation, volcanic rocks Temperature: Ranging from 10°C to 15°C, colder at higher altitudes The trail takes you through the alpine desert, showcasing the stark beauty of Kilimanjaro's higher elevations. Kikelewa Cave, nestled amidst volcanic rocks, provides a unique camping experience.

Day 4 - Kikelewa Cave to Mawenzi Tarn
Distance: Approximately 6km Altitude: 3,600m to 4,330m Vegetation: Alpine desert, views of Mawenzi peak, unique flora Temperature: Dropping to around 5°C, colder at night Hike towards Mawenzi Tarn, witnessing captivating views of Mawenzi Peak. The alpine scenery and the shimmering waters of the tarn create a serene atmosphere at this campsite.

Day 5 - Mawenzi Tarn to Kibo Hut
Continue your trek from Mawenzi Tarn to Kibo Hut, traversing diverse landscapes. The route offers breathtaking views of the surrounding terrain, with temperatures typically between 5-10°C. As you climb towards Kibo Hut, located at approximately 4,700 meters, the scenery transforms into an alpine desert, marked by rocky outcrops and scarce vegetation.

Day 6 - Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak Back to Horombo Hut
Distance: Approximately 15km Altitude: 5,895m to 3,720m Vegetation: Alpine desert, rocky terrain Temperature: Varies from sub-zero at the summit to 5°C at lower altitudes Celebrate your successful summit as you descend from Kibo Hut back to Horombo Hut. Reflect on your achievement and enjoy the changing landscapes during the descent.

Day 7 - Horombo Hut to Mandara Hut to Marangu Gate Back to Moshi/Arusha
Descend through the lush rainforest, passing Mandara Hut, and finally reach Marangu Gate. Celebrate your accomplishment before returning to Moshi or Arusha for a well-deserved rest.
